As part of her latest Arctic mission, Dr. Shaw will field test a custom-built, battery-powered robot that was developed using the advanced manufacturing and electronics equipment at the AMTCE.

The robot, created by DkIT engineering students in the AMTCE’s state-of-the-art training facility, will be deployed in Arctic conditions to assess how its electronic components perform in extreme temperatures. The project will also gather audio-visual and environmental data for research and public engagement purposes.
