October was another busy and impactful month at the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre of Excellence (AMTCE), with a strong focus on international collaboration, workforce development and industry-led upskilling.
CIFP Santa Catalina in Aranda de Duero Visit

We were pleased to welcome colleagues from Ó Fiaich Institute alongside members of an eTwinning project from northern Spain, CIFP Santa Catalina in Aranda de Duero. The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to tour AMTCE and engage with our advanced manufacturing facilities, showcasing best practice in training and skills development at both national and European level.
Cyber Security Workforce Apprenticeship Launch

We were proud to host Ireland’s first workforce-development apprenticeship in Cyber Security at AMTCE. This milestone event was attended by Minister of State Marian Harkin and Minister of State John Cummins, alongside partners FIT and LGMA, and an inspiring cohort of apprentices representing local authorities from across the country. The programme highlights the growing importance of cyber skills in the public sector and beyond.
Successful Trainings: Energy Management Systems ISO 50001 Lead Auditor

Learners from a wide range of industry backgrounds completed the Energy Management Systems ISO 50001 Lead Auditor course, delivered with SQT Training Ltd. Supported through the Skills to Advance initiative, the course equipped participants with the knowledge and tools to plan, conduct and lead energy management audits, supporting organisations in improving energy performance and embedding sustainability at the core of their operations.
Successful Trainings: Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

A highly engaged group of employees took part in the Irish Manufacturing Research delivered Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) training. Their enthusiasm and commitment to learning and precision engineering skills was outstanding, and we look forward to continuing to support their development in the coming months.
